Pure Bond - Chapter 01

#01: Boy Meets Girl

It was a mid warm Monday morning in Chicago for Jack Johnson as he gets up and prepares for school, "Oh man (he yawns), looks like it's time for me to get up." He got up from bed and walk towards the restroom to brush his teeth. Then, he went back to his room to put on his uniform and went downstairs to greet his family.

"Good morning, mom, dad," Jack said. "Hey, son," Thomas said. "Good morning, Jack, where's Tony?" Robin asked while giving her son a kiss on the cheek. "He's probably still sleeping, but I have to get going, I got a basketball game today and I need to be there for practice," Jack said. "Okay, we won't keep you waiting. Have a good day at school, son," Thomas said handshaking Jack. "I will, see you later," Jack said leaving out the door.

As Jack left his house, he went toward his car, the Dodge Dart, and drove off to school.

After 15 minutes passed, he made it to his school, the C.M.A. (Chicago Magnet Arts) Academy, where one of his best friends saw him parking his car at the parking lot.

Jack walked towards the front gate, where he saw his best friend, Tyler Jackson, waiting for him there.

"Hey, what's up, Jack?" Tyler said giving him a high five. "Sup, man, everything is straight with me, what you got planned for today, buddy?" Jack said while walking with Tyler towards the front door. "Well, I'm really excited that I got art class. I've been dying to draw something unique for myself, see what I am capable of," Tyler was pumped up. "Awesome! I got a basketball game today, would you like to come and watch?" Jack asked Tyler. "Totally! I'm with you all the way, my friend," Tyler responded in a great mood. "Great! Well then, I'm off to English class, I'll see you and Kyle later at lunch. See ya later, Ty.", Jack said leaving to head to class. "Alright. Later, Jack," Tyler said going to his class.

Jack went to class doing what needs to be done: Getting the work done and follow directions.

The 1st half of the day came went by in a flash as Jack was about to head to lunch to meet with his friends, but before he done that, he looked inside the dancing room, where he saw a beautiful girl all by herself performing some amazing ballet moves and he was impressed. When she was finished, he walked inside the room and talked to her.

"Hey, there." Jack said to the ballet girl. "Oh... hi!" the ballet girl greeted Jack. "I couldn't help but noticed that you are a really great dancer and I really mean it." he was complimenting her dancing skills. "Why, thank you, I've been dancing for quite awhile. I'm Sarah Morgan," she properly introduced herself to Jack. "My name is Jack Johnson, its nice to meet you, Sarah," Jack said. "Nice to meet you, too. You do look handsome, Jack," Sarah said blushing at him. Jack then replied, "I was thinking the same about you, too, Sarah. You're gifted with so much talent." "Oh! Thank you, Jack!" Sarah said giving him a hug. "Anyway, I got to go now, I'll be at my basketball game later on if you want to talk again. Nice meeting you, Sarah," Jack waved Sarah goodbye and after he left the room, Sarah said to herself, "I will see you later... because I love you, Jack Johnson."

During lunch, Jack talked to Tyler and Kyle about Sarah and how talented she was at dancing.

"You are a lucky man, Jack, I know that deep down she totally likes you," Kyle said. "I'm not lucky, I am a little shy though. I just said what I thought was right," Jack replied. He also said, "I told her that I had a game later on today. I wonder if she'll actually come and watch me play?" Tyler then replied to Jack's question, "Don't worry, she will." "I hope so," Jack said.


On the other of side of things, Sarah was talking to her 2 best friends, Laura Colvin and Jessie Watson about the boy she met earlier.

"So, Sarah, what did he say to you?" Jessie said in a giggly way. "Well, he did see me performing some great ballet moves and he is pretty cute," Sarah said. "How cute?" The girls said. "Super cute. He looks like a smart boy who'll get things done," Sarah said. "I am going to his basketball game later after school to see how good he is and... confess my feelings for him." "You go, girl!" Jessie said. "Now, go out there and confess your love for Jack," Laura said. "I will," Sarah replied.

As the day progresses, Jack continues to wonder if Sarah will make it to his game or not. "I'll just have to find out and wait."

The school day is over and Jack is at the gymnasium prepping up for his basketball game against St. Paul Academy. Tyler and a many other students and adults entered the gym to watch the game and there was still no sign of Sarah anywhere. "Oh, man! Where is she?" Jack said in his thoughts. "I hope she comes soon."

The game had started as Sarah was rushing her way to the gym after finishing her last class, "Don't worry, Jack. I'm coming!"

It was game time as the C.M.A. Academy squared off against St. Paul Academy. Jack is a point guard and shooting guard, for this game, he's starting at point guard.

Sarah made it to the gym near the end of the 1st quarter and she found a place to sit and watch Jack play on the court. "Woo hoo! Go, Jack! You can do it!" she said cheering for him.

Jack saw Sarah at the stands cheering on for him and he was glad that she could make it. He sat during the 2nd quarter to get some rest. "Man, this is just getting interesting. Now I can show Sarah what I can do. I gotta be sure not screw up in the 2nd half."

Halftime had begun. Sarah hardly got to see Jack play since he played during the whole 1st quarter. "Looks like he'll play in the 2nd half. I'm sure of it. I'm rooting for you, Jack. I'll be here to support you all the way."

Jack and the other players were ready, as the 3rd quarter began and Jack was back on the court, ready to show Sarah what he's capable of. He was quick and can keep up with anyone. "Wow! He's fast." Sarah was amazed with his speed and accuracy, his shooting skills were marvelous. Tyler also cheered on for his best friend, "Yeah, you the man, Jack!" He scored 27 points as the game was drawing to a conclusion. "This has turned out to be an awesome game," Tyler said.

The match concluded as the C.M.A. defeated St. Paul, 50 to 39. "Whew! I am exhausted!" Jack was sweating to death. "Time to head to the locker room and take a shower."

Jack took a shower after the game. After he was done, Sarah showed up, walking towards him next to the boy's locker room.

Sarah greeted, "Hey, Jack." "Hey, Sarah, I'm glad you made it," Jack said. Sarah was blushing "Uhhmm, Jack? I've wanted... to ask you something". "What is it?" Jack asked. "Would you like to go out with me because... I think you're really athletic and smart, You look like a great boy who'll get things done." Sarah is letting out her feelings for him. Jack responded, "Of course I will, Sarah, I was going to ask you the same thing earlier." After his response, the 2 hugged each other for a few seconds. Jack then said to her, "As long as I'm with you, I won't let anything happen to you. I love you, Sarah Morgan," Jack said. "And I love you, too, Jack Johnson," Sarah said.

Jack and Sarah were holding each other's hands as they were leaving the school. It was going to be the start of a beautiful relationship.
